This is an all around big game hunting bullet but we are going to go ahead and give it a Dangerous Game designation. This bullet was designed, with the help of our hunters in Australia, specifically for use on the big Asiatic buffalo. This Stone Hammer™ has a 3mm hollow point with a heavy meplat, like all the Lever Hammers, with a 60% weight retention design to maximize the trauma from the big shed petals and still maintain plenty of weight for full penetration of the big tough game animals. Fired from the magnum .375 caliber rifles this bullet will be tough to beat. As well as superior high velocity performance this bullet will work down to 1800 fps with perfect perfect weight retention the same as it does at high velocity impacts. Use this bullet with confidence for all your big game needs. This is a proven Dangerous Game combo in the 375 H&H but may have magazine restriction issues in some rifles.

Shooting this out of a Dakota 76 at 2750 FPS (I know I can get faster but this was soooo forgivingly accurate and hit the same spot as 305 claw hammer solids). Sub 1/2 Moa all day. Nosler brass and fed gm215m primers. Pushed by RL15. Lee factory crimp die to butter beans specs…. Because he knows waaaaaay more than I ever will. After taking this combo to Africa twice it made me a believer. Perfect one shot kills on everything from impala and springbuck, to lechwe, kudu (340 yards… and not a perfect hit, but it went down quickly), and zebra. Hammer is winning me over through real world results. I’m not a ballistic geek, just a hard core hunter who likes to make his own ammo.

.375 H&H Winchester Safari CRF— I loaded some practice rounds myself and had Hendershot load 2 boxes for Africa (all 270grain stone hammers in Norma Brass). All shot great, the Hendershot loads easily grouped under half an inch with single‑digit SDs. Terminal performance was nothing short of impressive: a giant kudu, a wildebeest, and a springbok all dropped on the spot. Most impressively, when I made a poor shot too far back on an oryx, the bullet’s terminal performance still impressed the heck out of the PH. For a bullet that delivered deep penetration on the kudu yet opened perfectly on a springbok with minimal meat damage, across six animals total, I’m simply impressed. Incidentally; at sightin we shot just 2 rounds and made a less than a 1/4in “snowman” – that’s a great way to start a safari with a happy PH.

375 H&H at 2675 fps out of a 20 inch barrel. Frontal shot at about 25 yards on an Alaska coastal brown bear. He went about 20 yards and piled up. Easy load development. Very happy with the performance.
