I have a 243 Win. Rem. 700 ADL stock barrel and action with a 9.125 twist per Rem. spec’s. 70 HH performs great. Only tried 2 loads, approx. 3550 fps, about 1/2″ groups at 100 yds. Needed something quick to try on east Texas pigs. Will work more on load development next spring. 165 yrd’s 125 pound boar (approx.) high shoulder with complete pass through, straight down. Very well impressed. Even a 300 WM shooter was impressed. So on deer there should be no worries.

If you are asking about running the 70g Hammer Hunter™, they will run very well from the 9″ twist.

A follow up review for above combo. The 243 win with the 70HH. It is a great killing combo. A friend of mine in east Texas near Sam Rayburn is making hog heaven very crowded. If he does his job on the trigger. I have other rifles for him to test in the future. Work is preventing me from testing. I am lucky for that at these times. I will leave review’s for other bullets when available. I would give 10 stars if I could. 70HH Rocks.

    Weatherby vanguard S2 243 win
Upgraded glass beaded H. S. Precision light stock.
18.5”barrel, suppressed with a Griffiin. 70gr. HH. Still 3,500fps with the suppressed shorter barrel.
1/2 “ at 100yards. Extremely Impressed. No recoil or pressure sighs. So much fun on coyotes, and antalope in Colorado. I’d love to attach pictures.

My daughter finally drew blood eith Hammers. Small buck mule deer at 100 yards. 3500 muzzle velocity, about 3250 impact. 243 Win. Shoulder/neck junction on a steep quartering to shot. Bullet exited right shoulder. It held together. Meat damage was there but not terrible.

Very pleased with Hammer. Thank you

I played with a few different powders. Best two were H4350 at 46 gr and RL 17. Both did very well. Will stick with H4350 due to temp stableness.
