This bullet is designed to fit factory length magazines of the long actions at 3.34″ and the short actions at 2.8″ oal cartridge lengths. Many of the factory rifles do not have magazines that will accommodate the longer noses of the the other Hammer Hunter™s. These will load very nicely and allow easy mag feeding.
Recommended min twist rate is 10.75″

Shoots amazing out of my 22”Sendero Light Proof Glacier Ti. Proof target through the builder/load development with this round produced a .19MOA 3 shot group. Just tried out for first time hog hunting with complete pass though at 350yds. It was a tough angle of a shot that most bullets would have created much more meat loss, with the Hammer Hunter™ it was minimal to none. Telling all my buddies about Hammer Bullets!

I tried nearly every premium hunting 30 cal bullet in my 300 WBY, using six different powders, only to consistently print 1.5 to 2.5 inch groups. I was about ready to sell this rifle, when I saw these 174 Hammers designed for tight mag constraints, which the 300 WBY suffers from. First group under imr7828 (the powder I was hoping this rifle would like) printed at 0.60moa. The best this rifle had ever shot by a factor of three. Continued load development rewarded me with a repeatable 0.5moa rifle, with these 174’s clocking in at 3380 FPS. Outstanding! And I’m totally confident in their terminal performance on elk.

I shot my first bull with this bullet out of my 300 WSM. At 200 yards the bullet would have been going about 2,800 fps. He died within seconds. I hit him in the shoulder, near the crease. Accuracy and speed out of this bullet is a great. What’s not to like?!
