The 181gr Hammer Hunter™ is one of our most popular bullets. One of the 1st bullets that we designed. It has been a stellar performer for many hunters including us in our own rifles. Technically this bullet really needs a 1-9.5″ twist to be fully stable not the 1-10″ that it was previously advertised as. Those who have run this bullet well in your 1-10″ twist go ahead and continue with it. Other wise we recommend the 180gr Hammer Hunter™ for 1-10″ twist rifles.

Absolutely love these!!! Been shooting the 181s and 166s in my 300 Win Mag and 300 WSM. Ive gotten 1/4 MOA groups out of both! On top of that they kill clean and DONT damage meat. Zero bloodshot meat in the 6 large game animals I’ve taken. If you are an ethical hunter that cares about meat lose then Hammer bullets are the one for you. Happy Hunting!!

Just loaded these for my Christensen Arms Ridgeline 300 WIn Mag. It seemed to be a very picky rifle. I set the OAL to just fit in the magazine and loaded up 4 rounds with varying charge weights of H1000. Started with 78 grains which shot good with no pressure signs. Moved to 78.5 which shot a .24” group at 100yds. No pressure signs and the velocity was right where I figured I should be. Fired one round of 79 gr. Showed slight signs of pressure. I’ll go with 78.5 gr charge weight. So 9 rounds and load development is done! These bullets are slightly more pricey than most but pay for themselves and then some. I can’t wait for fall to try these on game. Thanks for a great product!

Tried a large variety of bullets in my 30 nosler. The hammer hunters easily out shot the others. They have worked great on game also

Grouping under moa out of savage 300 wsm at mag length. Accurate +600 yards. Shot an oversized cow moose broadside, high lungs. Impact velocity ~2700fps. Hit one rib, recovered bullet in the hide. Retained ~70%. No meat loss at all.

I first purchased a sample pack and loaded 3 groups of 5 and started at max oal and ended up at 2.900 with 60 grains of H4350. At the range all groups were under an inch and the group I settled on was nearly a one hole group at a 100 yards. Upon purchasing a box of these bullets, I loaded 20 up for hunting and zeroed 2 inches high at a 100 and on Saturday November 19 I harvested 2 whitetail does within a minute of each other. The first doe was a neck shot at 185 and she took 2 steps and hit the ground. The second doe came broadside at 235 and went 15 yards after a hitting her behind the shoulder. The exit hole on both does was about the size of a quarter and I would consider both shots to be no loss of meat. I will not buy another bullet other than hammer hunter for my 300 WSM and I can’t wait to see how these perform on an Elk this year.

For our recent New Mexico elk hunt it was a toss-up between the 181g Hammer Hunter™ and the Barnes 175g LRX. The Hammer Hunter™ shot tighter groups at the range from my Christensen 300 PRC…so that’s what I went with. In our previous hunt I had used the 162g Hornady ELD-X bullet in a 7mm Rem Mag. In that hunt, my hunting partner and I both took our elk at 330 yards. I had a core / jacket separation using the ELD-X bullet. The game processors at the ranch couldn’t find the lead core. Where’d all that lead go I wondered ? Hmmmm. I’m not into “eating lead” so I started doing my homework on monolithic bullets. We both settled on Hammer bullets, and I for one couldn’t be happier ! Shot a nice cow elk at 75 yards, straight broadside shot. It was down within 50 yards. Recovered only one “petal” in the off-side. It’s great knowing that a possible “lead surprise” will not be on the dinner table this year ! Thank you Hammer bullets for a great product !
