Sample size of 1, but this bullet’s terminal performance out of an 18” 300 HAM’R was much better than a 110 grain pill from another maker. On that other pill, three shots at three different whitetails resulted in no recovery.
The hammer blackout was a bang flop. I did not see blood until getting the deer out of the truck, and did not find the entry and exit wounds until I opened her.
I am glad this one has better terminal performance, but I will be switching to shock hammers (or power hammers) when using the 300 HAM’R for hunting going forward. Personal preference, of course, but I like easy tracking in eastern woods.
I will share my load data with the forum soon.

So easy to load. Got her running 2920 out of a 20 HAMR. Dropping everything its shot from 50-290 yards.

Reporting on my tests of Hammer .308 Cal-101gr Hammer BlackOut
This is after I found a really good bullet by another company – that they decided to stop making. Rifle is a 14.5″ pinned & welded X-caliber 1:10 barrel. Pics show rifle & groups, velocities, standard deviation and extreme spread in 4-shot and 5-shot groups. Using Primary Arms 5x Micro Prism at 50 yards. Ready to test out to 300 yds.
