Does the Creedmoor really need more???  I don’t think so!  With this pure copper 85gr Hammer Hunter™ running around 3400 fps plus, it makes the Creed a 400 yard point blank range rig.  This combo is still traveling nearly 2100 fps at 500y!  This kind of speed with a bullet that will retain the same 60% weight with high or low velocity impacts is going to be tough to beat for the normal to mid range hunter.

You can get great performance out of the CM and 6.5-06 AI. With the 6.5 Sherman Max, performance on deer at 4000 fps is absolutely incredible!

I tried 43 gr of Varget and must say I was not impressed. Then tried 43.5 and got bug hole groups from two different rifles, At 3300+ fps these thing will turn a deer’s insides to Jello . For most Eastern US hunting these will work wonderfully. Lower recoil, super accurate and a vapor trail. What’s not to love. Will be buying many more of these

4 shots the first day into 1″ with a ladder of different charges of Varget, and then the second day put 3 shots into a 1/2″ at 100 yds with 44.5gr. Varget, cci200 primers Lapua brass, sized with fl die and .289 bushing and crimped into first groove up front with lee die. ruger american predator 6.5cm. Primer is a little flat but not too bad, may back off a touch. Just ordered 200 more of these, and plan on using them next deer season.

With this rifle and a 22” barrel the 85g Hammer Hunter™ is traveling 3500fps with 49g of Varget, the group is .8 at a 100yards and will continue with a
crimp ladder to see if the group continues to improve.

Amazing consistency. Very easy to load. Low ES &SD. Great repeatability from lot to lot. Velocity is beyond comparison. Absolutely devastating on coyotes: multiple exit fragments.

The wife and I took 4 deer with the 85hh last season, between 100-220 yds with 6.5CM 44gr. Varget, terminal performance was very good, 2 bang flops and 2 that went 30 yds. These bullets were the absolute easiest to get accuracy with from our two 6.5CM rifles. Also recovered two shanks that traveled front to back on 100 lb. does. very flat shooting too.

Loaded up some of the 85gr HH with Varget in a ladder for 6.5CM and had a range day. My friend brought his .240 WBY Magnum also. My 6.5CM made 3600fps easily without any pressure signs and shot a cloverleaf with little recoil. My friend shot his .240wby mag 90gr bullet at 3400fps with twice the recoil. The 85gr HH is an accurate and fast round, I was really impressed. When deer season starts I will put it to the meat test and see what it can do! I am not certain but I think I might be able to squeak 3700fps out of the 6.5cm with this bullet. My only issue was the VARGET powder, I was getting some wide spreads on the crono (not unusual for VARGET) so I might try Winchester 748 powder which has served me well over the years.

Boar hunt using the 85s in a grendel, our guide shot a running 300 lb sow at 310 yds and dropped it cold 1 shot…then he he turned to me and asked me to make him an upper for his AR
