I can make them shoot bad. Seldom do they shoot over .6″. Use faster powders and run em hard. Took a white tail this fall, bang flop. Totally destroyed the lungs, full penetration.

Worked up a bunch of loads with different powders in my 24” 257 Weatherby. The bullets and bore i treated with hex boron nitride

Selected rl17 – greatest velocity before pressure signs AND crazy tight es numbers. Light crimp. 72.7 grains – started at 68. Hit notable pressure signs at 74.1. Non-magnum primers. Wby brass. 4170 feet per second! And under an inch which is about as good as I can shoot anyway

Took an 8 pt and a doe with it in 250AI during WV deer season 2023. Destroyed the lungs in both. Doe trotted about 30 yds and fell over and the buck took 2 steps and dropped. Using N-540 @ 3396 fps and groups .096″.

First kill out of my 25-06 with these bullets. Couldn’t have asked for better results. My shot placement was low but the buck only went 5 feet and collapsed. Thank you Hammer.

11 yr. old grandson used this bullet to shoot a button buck at 100 yards with his Ruger #1 257 Roberts , he is a smaller boy and for now does not like to much recoil so i loaded this very fine bullet for him. velocity was around 3400 -3500 FPS but was very accurate 3 shot groups 3 / 4 of inch at 100 yards with me shooting.just a great bullet.
