this bullet performed wonderfully on the whitetail I shot, punched through some thick brush and still found it’s mark and make a clean kill. It was also very easy to work up a load for and without having to push it to the max I was running 3150 fps with amazing groupings. Overall very happy with this bullet!

I played with these in my wife’s youth model Rem 700. Settled on 42.3 gr of RL-16. Getting tiny groups and about 3100 fps MV from that 20 inch barrel. I’m sure the deer won’t like them at all. Also noticed with Hammer bullets there is not enough copper to bother with in the barrel. Oddly I tried the same load with an 85 gr TSX and got about 150 fps less MV with the slightly lighter Barnes bullet. Hammer is doing something right. The Barnes shot a little over an inch and Hammers were a little under half an inch.

6×45 is a great little cartridge and you only need to neck up a 5.56 case to .243 by running it through a die. That being said if you want to use it in an AR15, the magazine length limits your options a bit. These bullets are the perfect hunting bullet for 6X45. They make for a nice short overall length and they’ll knock deer over right where they stand if you make a good kill zone shot, even out of a 12.5″ barrel. No worries about lead in your meat either. Amazing bullet design and every bit worth the price. They drive tacks too.

After great success with my 270 wsm and shock hammers I loaded the 88 gr in 243 for a 12 year old. The cow elk was shot at 250 yards and was down within a few seconds. I would not hesitate to shoot a bull elk out to 300 yards with the performance I experienced with the 243 and hammer bullets. These bullets out perform everything else I have tried.
