Called the company to ascertain about a good bullet for my 1:10 Tikka factory barrel. Goal was to have a temp stable round for Whitetail 3100 and up. Was able to talk to Steve (2nd time he’s helped me) for a few minutes and he thought the 122 HHT would be the ticket. Thanked him and ordered a box of 100.
Using fire formed Peterson Brass, Reloader 16, CCI200 and the 122 grain HHT .020″ off jam, I ran 5 rounds to foul and a ladder of 10 rounds. I hit 3222 FPS with no pressure signs at all. Dropped to a good node at 3200 and loaded 10 rounds. 72° with can, all 10 rounds went inside an inch, averaged 3200 FPS and a spread under 20. Proofed it at 300 only taking .8 MILS. Took the load out to 550 for 2.5 MILS of drop and I should have around 2200 FPS impact velocity. This is over max what I intend to do with this rig. All 5 rounds clustered on a 6″ plate only needing .1 MIL hold for wind around 12MPH. These 122’s hold tight and are very flat shooting. Accuracy was beyond what I expected and load development was very short. I shoot the 151 Absolute’s in my .300 WSM around 3350 and load development was the same. Could not be happier with this bullet choice for accuracy and load development. Whitetail season is a few months away to test. Looking forward to it with these 122’s.
Thanks Hammer for the assistance and a great product.
